Fire At Former Johnsonburg Fire Hall



The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal, Johnsonburg Borough Police department and the Johnsonburg Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of a fire that damaged a 3-story wood frame structure at 1049 East Center Street in Johnsonburg, the former Johnsonburg Fire Hall. The structure currently contained a business, the East End Cycle on the first floor, a vacant apartment on the second floor and an apartment occupied by Christopher Krug, of Johnsonburg, on the third floor. The fire originated on the second floor in the vacant apartment. The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no injuries. Damage was estimated at $65,000.00. The Wilcox, Ridgway and St. Marys Fire Departments assisted the Johnsonburg Fire Department at the scene. The Kane Fire Department stood by in Wilcox and the Mt. Miracle On Lafayette Street: St. Marys Says Newfound Money Saves Budget Plans


St. Marys officials are calling unexpected savings on city insurance plans a "budget miracle" ahead of the Christmas season, one that will spare next year's financial plans, including an ambitious economic development pilot program, at no extra cost.


In the fourth and final budget meeting held in City Hall in St. Marys on Monday, finance director, carol Muhitch, said cit policies on everything from automotive to workers' compensation insurance reflect considerable saving after being put out to bid earlier this year. Ridgway Man Charged With Criminal Trespass


The Pennsylvania State Police charged Michael Conroy, 39, of 8021 Laurel Mill Road, Ridgway, with Criminal Trespass after he refused to leave the property of Joseph Christini, 31, of 149 Waterworks Road in Ridgway, after being told to do so.


Two Face Charges Of Possession After Investigation On Robin Road In St. Marys


City Police reported responding to 172 Robin Road to check on the welfare of a child that was staying in a camper at the residence. Upon arrival police located the child. The child appeared to be fine. Police also recorded a small amount of marijuana and two articles of drug paraphernalia. As a result of their investigation, police say criminal charged of possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of Drug Paraphernalia were field against 20 year old Melissa Pearsall of St. Marys. Police said that charges of Possession of drug Paraphernalia were filed against 32 year old Nicole Beimel of St. Marys.

The Ridgway YMCA will sponsor Breakfast with Santa at the Ridgway Fire Hall on Saturday, December 6th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The menu includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, drinks and homemade cookies for only $4.00. All children will received a special gift from Santa.




Make It Take It Night December 5th


Make It Take It night will be held on Friday, December 5th at the First Baptist Church, 424 North Broad Street in Emporium. The program is designed for children. Children make gifts and wrap them for Christmas Gift giving. The event begins at 6 p.m.
