
Fidelis M. “Dell” Hupfer, 87, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 128 Averyville Road, St. Marys, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Pinecrest Manor.
She was born July 14, 1937, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Lavern and Mary Troha Goodreau. She was a lifelong resident of St. Marys and attended St. Marys Parochial Schools.
On August 8, 1959, in the Sacred Heart Church, Dell married the late Robert J. Hupfer, who preceded her in death on February 25, 2015.
Dell is survived by her daughter, Patricia Hayman (Mark) of Berryville, VA; two sons: John Hupfer (Nanna Bush) and Karl Hupfer (Christie), both of St. Marys; four grandchildren: Jason and Sean Hayman, Veronica Hupfer, and Jared Timchak; four great-grandchildren: Kylie, Chelbi, Khloé, and Sean, Jr.; and her brother, John “Butch” Goodreau.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dell was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Gaton.
Dell was a parishioner of Queen of the World Church. She was an avid home baker as well as a familiar face at Queen of the World nut bread and cinnamon roll events. Dell loved the outdoors, gardening, and exploring new places. She loved to travel with her husband and more recently enjoyed taking trips with her friends. She enjoyed polka music and was a member of the St. Marys Polka Boosters Club.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Queen of the World Church on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 11:00AM with Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
