Forrest L. "Junior" Kinley Jr., 94 of Ridgway, died on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home following a brief illness.


He was born on May 8, 1932, in Sharon, a son of the late Forrest Sr. and Margaret Dodge Kinley.


On November 28, 1953, he married the late Ida Himes, who preceded him in death on March 4, 2017.


Junior was a simple man who found life's greatest joys in the little things, especially taking leisurely drives along the quiet back roads and enjoying the beauty of the countryside. A devoted public servant, he proudly dedicated more than 60 years to the Ridgway Fire Department and Second Ward, serving his community with unwavering commitment. For 37 years, Junior faithfully served as Secretary of the Ridgway Fire Department Relief Association and spent many years as a Pennsylvania Forest Fire Warden. His dedication to service extended beyond the fire department as he also served as Secretary of Pentech Credit Union. He will be remembered for his humble spirit, steadfast dedication, and the lasting impact he made on the community he loved.


He is survived by 3 children: Edward (Willie) Kinley of McKees Rocks, Bruce (Laurie) Kinley of St. Marys, and Nancy (John) Wygant of Ridgway, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.


In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Kinley, a grandson, Damon Carlson, and a sister, Ruth Larson.


A Funeral Service for Forrest L. Kinley will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Krise Funeral Home, 130 Center Street, Ridgway, PA, 15853, with Pastor Mark Hurst officiating.


Burial will follow at Thayer Cemetery.


Visitation will be held on Thursday at Krise Funeral Home from 10:00 AM till the time of service.


Memorial contributions may be made to the Ridgway Fire Department, 30 North Broad Street, Ridgway, PA, 15853.
