HOSA Students Raising Funds For Texas Trip To Internationals

SMAHS students are part of the Health Occupational Students of America (HOSA)- Future Healthcare Workers’ organization. Recently we had 8 girls place at the state competition giving them the opportunity to attend internationals in Houston, Texas. Our goal is to give each of these local students from Saint Marys Area High School the support to attend this competition.

HOSA is a global student-led organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services and several federal and state agencies. HOSA Empowers Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community, through education, collaboration, and experience. Not only does this organization promote career opportunities in the health industry, but it also enhances the delivery of quality health care to all people.

We recently competed at the State Leadership Conference in Lancaster. Our Saint Marys Area HOSA chapter was very successful. We earned 2 first places and 1 third place. All of these medalists now have the chance to compete at international competition in Houston on June 26-29, 2024.

On the downside, this trip can be extremely costly for these students. The cost to take HOSA students and chaperones to Texas for the competition is estimated to be $10,000.

We are asking for donations and/or potential sponsors for these deserving students.

By supporting us, you are providing our students with success now and in the future. We are your future doctors, nurses, therapists, and so much more. Help us save lives everyday. We greatly appreciate your support and will one day give back to our community as well.
