(Video) City Council Appoints Two Co-Managers, Discusses Removal Of Exercise Area Near Shawmut Park

City Council met on Monday, June 15th at City Hall. Council accepted the resignation of City Manager, Joe Fleming, and appointed two city employees to serve as co-managers in the interim. Council will begin advertising for the position of City Manager in the near future.
Council also hear from Leslie Swope, the Executive Director of the St. Marys Public Library. Swope shared information on the many events and activities available to the community this summer.
Council also discussed removing the physical fitness area at Shawmut Park. The fitness area is seldom used and was a project co-sponsored by Penn Highlands Healthcare.
Council also hear from Monica Radkowsi. Monica brought to council the idea of
restorning a shamut caboose and placing in in the Shawmut Park. Council liked the idea, but are against the restoration project actually taking place at Shawmut Park.
