A horse drawn wagon ride is one of the best ways to experience Elk Country! Along the way, your wagon master will share helpful information about our elk population, the Elk Country Visitor Center facility, and the Pennsylvania Wilds environment.
Horse Drawn Wagon rides with the Keystone Elk Country Alliance typically take place at the Elk Country Visitor Center on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings starting Fridya, August 23rd and running through the end of October–weather permitting and when we are able. There will be no wagon ride on Monday, September 2nd, Labor Day. Times vary due to change in daylight. This ride does not guarantee that you will see the elk, as they are free roaming.
Reservations: We take reservations the day of each ride beginning at 10AM in person at the Visitor Center. Should we have seats remaining, we will take phone reservations. All tickets must be paid for at the time of reservations. No refunds will be issued unless rides are unable to go out due to weather or unforeseen circumstances on our end. We ask that guests are at the wagon loading area 25 minutes prior to ride times. The wagon will pull out on time to keep our schedules. We have our own private rides for our events at which time public rides will not be available.
***Please keep in mind that our Guest Relations Coordinators do their best to accommodate everyone–however, seating is limited and the demand for wagon rides during the fall season is high. Please be considerate if you are unable to get on a ride because it is already full. Thank you!
Wagon Ride Policy:
If you reserve seating on our wagon ride, you must be here 30 minutes prior to your ride time in order to check in for your ride. You must be at the designated loading area 15 minutes prior to your ride time. If you are not present and accounted for at the above times, we reserve the right to open your seat(s) up to on-hand guests. During peak season of Sept/Oct you will want to plan to arrive one hour in advance due to high traffic.
