The following is a recent post from the St. Marys Parks & Recreation
First off, we would like to apologize for any confusion in our press release. To clarify some of the questions we are continuously receiving:
Our summer staff members are working hard on the much needed maintenance of the Community Pool.
As you know, pool memberships and lessons are both being reimbursed. The reason for this is simply due to the fact that we will not be having a NORMAL swim season. We are working on creating a system in order to follow all guidelines set forth by the state of Pennsylvania.
You can expect to receive your reimbursement for memberships and lessons within the next 3 weeks.
This does NOT mean that the Community Pool is closed for the summer. We are not able to open in the yellow phase, but we are working tirelessly to get things prepped and ready for when we can.
In the event we are able to open, there will be many, many, modified and ongoing changes as we work to keep our employees and residents safe. This will surely be a different summer, but we are optimistic to do what we can to make it as great as possible!
The St. Marys street crew will be putting the basketball hoops back up at the parks within the next few da
ys as well.
Summer programs WILL BE HAPPENING! They will be announced at a later date with more information.
Walking trails at Benzinger, Memorial, Luhr, and Kaulmont are OPEN.
Bathrooms continue to be closed to the public due to the shortage of disinfectant supplies, but will open once we are able to place the order.
Playgrounds continue to be closed until further notice.
Courts and fields are able to be used by the public as long as there are no organized activities—-individual and family use ONLY, please!
We will continue to update you as necessary and when things are being changed!
