State Police Investigate Stolen 4-Wheeler
State police in Ridgway are investigating a report of a stolen 4-wheeler. The ATV is an unknown model and is described as red in color and purchased at Tractor Supply approximately 10 years ago. Anyone with information pertaining to this case is asked to contact State Police.


Pedal Cycle Found On West Theresia Road In Fox Township
State policer reported recovering a Pedal Cycle on West Theresia Road. The Owner can claim the property at the Ridgway State Police Station.


Police Investigate Criminal Mischief In Byrnedale
State police investigated an act of criminal Mischief on Grant Street in Jay Township. Police report someone damaged a lock on a mobile home trailer. The investigation is ongoing.

John R. Longhi, 72, Kersey
John R. Longhi, 72, of Skyline Drive, Kersey, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Penn Highlands DuBois. There will be no services per John's request and arrangements are under the direction of Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.


Rotary Welcomes Lana Evans From Deprtment of Military and Veterans Affairs
This week the St. Marys Rotary Club welcomed Lana Evans from the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. Lana talked about the services the DMVA provides, and fielded questions from the members. Death Of Kane Woman Investigated
State police in Kane were called to investigate the death of a known 82-year-old Kane woman on South Settlement Road. Through investigation it was determined the woman died of natural causes.


Marilyn “June” Ballou Shoup, 97, Emporium
Marilyn “June” Ballou Shoup, age 97, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Concordia at Bethlen. June was the daughter of the late Judson and Helen (Burk) Ballou. She was born on November 6, 1928, in Peoria, IL. She was a 1946 graduate of Emporium High School. It was there that she met the love of her life, James “Jim” Shoup. The two enjoyed 71 years of marriage together before Jim’s passing in 2020- welcoming 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and 9 great grand

Governor Josh Shapiro and Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis visited legislative and community leaders in Allegheny County to encourage eligible Pennsylvanians to take advantage of the Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit (WPTC) as they file their taxes prior to this year's April 15th tax deadline to receive more money as part of their tax refunds. Two Vehicle Accident On Boot Jack Road in Ridgway
State police investigated a two-vehicle accident on Boot Jack Road. Brain Bell, 39, of Dubois was traveling south on Bot Jack Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Hill Top Drive while in the truck lane located on the right side of the northbound traffic lane. While turning left, the Bell vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by Donna McCracken, 58, of Anita, Pa., No Injuries were reported.


Potter County Fire In Harrison Township Ruled Arson
Pennsylvania State Police fire Marshal ruled that a fire that destroyed a barn located in Harrison Township, Potter County was arson. The investigation determined that someone arrived at the location and entered the unoccupied bard, then ignited a fire on the inside of the barn before leaving the scene. Authorities believe this fire is connected to several outside fires in the immediate area which occurred between March 28th and March 29th. Those fires were set on Harrison Ro
