Megan Quesenberry led a balanced St. Marys attack with 11 points, as the visiting Lady Dutch topped crosstown rival Elk County Catholic, 37-28, in D9 League action. Taylor Newton had 16 points and 10 rebounds for ECC.
With the Lady Crusaders trailing by double digits at the half, Taylor Newton put together a big second half effort to bring the Lady Crusaders back into the game on Saturday afternoon. Ultimately, the Lady Crusaders fell to the Lady Dutch of St. Marys Area 37 - 28.
Taylor, who was named the Straub Insurance Agency Player of the Game for her second half effort, scored 16 points overall with 14 of them coming in the second half. Her strong performance helped the Lady Crusaders close the Lady Dutch lead to two at one point before the final lead of the game finished at nine.
