Cecilia Marie Mehalow, 75, a longtime resident of Emporium, PA, passed away at her residence on November 2, 2026. She was born January 14, 1951 in Renovo, PA. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Mehalow and Anna Kathryn (Gilmartin) Mehalow. Cecilia was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church and 1970 graduate of Cameron County High School. She never married and resided with her parents in the South Park neighborhood for most of her adult life.

Cecilia enjoyed traveling with her parents, and kept many mementos from her cruise vacations and winters spent in Florida near the beach. In earlier years her hobbies included sewing her own clothing in brilliant color combinations and hand painting ceramics. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Olympics and football. She could always be found proudly wearing her Pittsburgh Steelers apparel on game days.

She was never able to drive and was grateful for all of her friends who provided transportation around town, to church, and to appointments. More recently she volunteered at the Emporium Senior Center, where she had the opportunity to visit with friends, play cards, and enjoy the company of others. She was a regular at the Wednesday afternoon Bingo game, which was probably her favorite event of the week. She also valued time spent with her friends who attended Saturday evening Mass at St. Mark.

She is survived by three brothers, William Mehalow of Smithsburg, Maryland, and wife Letitia (Caseino) Mehalow, John Mehalow of Emporium, and Joseph (Joe) Mehalow also of Emporium, as well as one niece Adrienne Mehalow of Bar Harbor, Maine. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA, on Monday, November 16, 2026, at 10:30 AM, with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant. There will be no visitation. Private burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Hyner, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emporium Senior Center, 105 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA 15834, or the https://diabetes.org/?form=Donate American Diabetes Association at P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
