State police are investigating a theft in Shippen Township. According to police, a reimbursement check directed to a known 53 yea old woman from Emporium was intercepted and cashed. The investigation is ongoing.

Dubois Man Accused Of Rape
A DuBois man has been jailed after allegedly raping a woman last year. In November of 2025 police began an investigation into 55 year-old Robert Powlus after the victim told police that he allegedly raped her and threatened to kill her if she told anyone. When questioned, Powlus denied any sexual contact with the victim. After collecting his DNA on July 1st 2026, police say it matched DNA found during the sexual assault examination. He is now at the Jefferson County Jail wher

Governor Shapiro, Pennsylvania State Police Deliver Update on Helicopter Crash
An airplane pilot died Wednesday after a violent collision with a Pennsylvania State Police helicopter near a runway at a small airport, but both state troopers aboard the helicopter survived, authorities said. Ohio Man Facing Charges After Domestic Incident In Jay Township
State police investigated a domestic incident in Jay Township. According to police, a known 33-year-old woman from Ridgway suffered injuries. As a result, a known 31-year-old man from Stoutsville, Ohio was arrested and placed in Elk County Jail.

St. Marys Man In Elk County Prison After Resisting Arrest
City police were dispatched to West Condot Road to assist Elk County Probation with a suspect who was attempting to flee during an arrest. Keenan McMillen, 33, of St. Marys was placed in Elk County Prison on probation violations; he received charges for resisting arrest, flight to avoid apprehension and fleeing on foot.

City Police Report Numerous DUI Traffic Stops
City police reported conducting a traffic stop on South Michael Street and Brusselles Street. After investigation, Amanda Marie Nussbaum, 38, of St Marys received charges for DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and related traffic offenses.
