Culinary instructors from Northern Pennsylvania Regional College offering small group classes aimed at improving various kitchen skills while enjoying an afternoon in the Chamber Kitchen in Emporium.

The first class coincides with Cinco de Mayo. It will be held Sunday, May 3 from 1-3pm. Space is limited to 15. Price is $25 a person or bring a friend and pay $45. Tina Solak from the Cameron County Chamber of Commerce says not only will it be fun, but with several county restaurants featuring Mexican cuisine, this class would be beneficial for employees or owners. Attendees will make guacamole, Pico de Gallo, Salsa Verde, Corn Tortillas, Street Corn, and Churros. In addition Carl Mitchell, an owner of Rich Valley Wines will teach Margaritta making. “The class will give attendees the opportunity to use the induction range,” says Solak. Induction cooking is safer than an open flame with gas and heats as fast as gas. The induction range was purchased through a grant from West Penn Energy Fund.

Registration will be taken at the Cameron County Chamber of Commerce office in Emporium, or over the phone at 814-486-4314.
