Christine A. Wolfe, 101, of Elk Haven Nursing Home, St., Marys, and formerly of Blaine Ave., Johnsonburg, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 17, 2026, at Elk Haven following a lengthy illness, one week before her 102nd birthday.
She was born February 25, 1924, in Johnsonburg, a daughter to the late Edward and Martha Weinkauf Amacher. On July 2, 1942, in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, she married Lawrence “Skinny” Wolfe. He preceded her in death on December 14, 2011.
A lifelong resident of Johnsonburg, Christine attended Johnsonburg High School. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church and had been the Press Rep. for the Girl Scouts for over 26 years. She was a very private person who loved to travel with her husband to visit with his military buddies and stop for picnics with family.
Christine retired from the Johnsonburg Press in 1983 after working there for over 26 years.
Christine is survived by her brother and sister in law, Richard “Louie” and Sharon Wolfe of Johnsonburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Christine is predeceased by brothers, Edward, William, Walter and Albert Amacher and sisters Florence Shettler, Irene Ford, Mae Pavlock and Mildred Yonker.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Christine A. Wolfe to be conducted at Holy Rosary Church on Thursday February 26, 2026, a 10 AM with Fr. David Wilson, Pastor, as celebrant. Interment will be in Wardvale Lutheran Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are under direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg.
If desired, memorial contributions in memory of Christine can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
