Daniel R. Ross, age 77, Johnsonburg

Daniel R. Ross, age 77, of Rose Street, Johnsonburg, PA, died January 20, 2026 at Penn Highlands-Elk. A son of the late Robert and Esther (DeLullo) Ross, he was born on July 9, 1948 in Johnsonburg, PA.

Dan is survived by a sister-in-law, Sandy Ross; a brother-in-law, Chuck Simpson; a nephew, Bob (Denise) Ross of Ridgway, a niece, Michele Fabris of Virginia; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Besides his parents, Dan was predeceased by his brother, William Ross and his sister, Bobbie Ann Simpson.

Dan was a 1968 graduate of Johnsonburg Schools. He went to the US Navy after High School and retired from the Navy after 24 years as Chief Petty Officer. He then went on to work at the Bradford Post Office for many years. He also spent many years volunteering for several different tasks at the Central Hose Company. He was a member of the Central Hose Company, and past member of the Wilcox Legion, Wilcox Sportsmen’s and some other local Organizations. He was born and raised in Johnsonburg, lived 24 years in Florida while with the Navy and the rest of his life in Johnsonburg.

There will be no visitation.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2026 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Johnsonburg, PA, with Father David Wilson.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg/Ridgway Servicemen’s Detail. Military Members are asked to assemble at the Ubel Funeral Home at 9:15 a.m., Friday.

Interment will take place in the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
