After eight years of serving the community as a seafood market and local eatery, Dream Catch has transitioned from public operations to focus exclusively on community food service distribution. The shift allows Dream Catch to extend its mission beyond a single storefront and provide consistent, nutritious meals to seniors and preschool-aged children across the region.
Dream Catch was founded with a simple but ambitious goal: to bring fresh seafood and new dining experiences to an area where access was limited. Over the years, it introduced offerings not previously available in the region, including sushi, while becoming a trusted local destination and an active supporter of the community through charitable giving, Thanksgiving meal drives, and ongoing local partnerships.
“At its core, Dream Catch has always been about service,” said Janice Breniman, owner of Dream Catch and Dream View. “What began as a local seafood market grew into something much bigger than we originally imagined. This transition allows us to serve people in a way that is more sustainable, more responsible, and ultimately more impactful.”
Today, Dream Catch partners with senior centers and early childhood programs to prepare and distribute over 2,000 nutritionally balanced meals each week. These meals provide reliable daily nutrition for individuals who depend on structured meal programs, while ensuring that all food prepared is planned with purpose and without waste.
In recent months, the public market model resulted in excess unused food, including grab-and-go items and fresh seafood. Moving to a distribution-focused operation allows Dream Catch to better align production with demand, eliminate unnecessary waste, and deliver meals where they are needed most.
While Dream Catch is no longer open to the public, its sister restaurant, Dream View, remains fully open and operating at 535 South Michael Street, St. Marys, PA. Dream View offers elevated steak and seafood dining, sushi, seasonal menus, and special events in a refined yet approachable setting.
“The years of experience we gained through Dream Catch have shaped everything we do,” said Zak Breniman, owner of Dream Catch and Dream View. “At Dream View, we’re able to showcase those skills in an elevated yet accessible way, bringing together quality, creativity, and approachability for our guests.”
All Dream Catch gift cards and equivalent promotions continue to be honored at Dream View for their full dollar value.
“We’re excited about what’s ahead for both Dream Catch and Dream View,” said Luke Kneidel, General Manager of Dream View. “In the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more information across our social media platforms and website, including how community members can access meals through local programs. At the same time, we’re bringing renewed energy to Dream View with new events, dining experiences, and opportunities for the community. We encourage everyone to follow along to see what the next chapter of the Dream holds.”
