Emporium Woman Victim Of Scam

State Police in Emporium were called to investigate a scam. According to police a known 63-year-old woman from Emporium received an email from Norton, a software virus protection company. The caller told the woman that the company wanted to help clear possible fraud activity within her email accounts. The call then asked for permission to access her computer and other devices, which would give them access to personal information. Police encourage residents that this is a scam.
