Farm Safety Day In Elk County Saturday, September 19th

An upcoming workshop, “Farm Safety Day in Elk County,” hosted by Penn State Extension, will focus on reducing risks and preventing farm incidents with hands-on educational activities.


The event will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Elk County Fairgrounds, 316 Dietz Road, Kersey.


Designed for rural families, this event features engaging presentations and demonstrations on essential safety practices focused on reducing risks and preventing incidents on the farm


Topics include chainsaw safety, tractor and all-terrain vehicle/utility task vehicle safety, barn fire prevention, groundwater protection and emergency preparedness. Additionally, participants can attend a session featuring Stop the Bleed instruction.



Penn State Extension is offering this event at no charge to general participants. Preregistration by Sept. 11 is encouraged.
