Fentanyl Bill Now Law

Gov. Josh Shapiro has signed my bill into law as Act 18 of 2026. This legislation will help police officers get fentanyl off our streets.
The new law (previously House Bill 1344) will establish certification standards for law enforcement K-9 units trained to detect fentanyl, helping ensure police dogs across Pennsylvania meet consistent training and performance benchmarks to alert for the synthetic opioid.
