First Commonwealth Bank has a series of activities planned from April 6-10 as part of America Saves Week, an annual national campaign that encourages and empowers individuals, families, employers, and communities to review their finances.

This year, in addition to its community activities, the bank has partnered with Propel School in Homewood, PA and Fund My Future in which First Commonwealth bankers will host three financial education events from April 7-9, for the students at Propel School, and one presentation for families.

America Saves Week’s 2026 “Saving for Your Past, Present, and Future” campaign focuses on several important topics that make up one’s financial landscape with a realistic economic approach, including saving for emergencies and unexpected expenses, leveraging automatic savings, retirement, and reducing debt. Additionally, more niche topics such as talking to families about money, understanding employer's financial wellbeing benefits, and the mental and emotional effects of financial stress.

“With so many Americans still feeling the impact of inflation, rising costs, and interest rates, this national conversation is timely and needed,” said Anna Frank, First Commonwealth Financial Education Coordinator. “We look forward to supporting our community in gaining better savings habits and getting key strategies that improve the financial lives of our neighbors and their businesses.

“This year, we have partnered with the Propel School for a series of workshops, because a major focus of our program is to educate our youth with impactful information about the importance of managing money and finances,” Frank added.

Last year, more than 28.5 million individuals inspired $155 million in reported savings, and brought together 5,046 participating organizations, making it the most impactful America Saves Week to date.

Throughout America Saves Week, First Commonwealth will host the following financial education events:
