Flooding At St. Marys Public Library...(Library Closed On Tuesday, 7/7)

The library received a significant amount of water damage due to the flooding. At one point water was coming through the outside doors and down the stairs. There was water above the staff’s ankles as they were trying to elevate items to protect them from damage.

The library will be closed Tuesday, July 7th as we contact our insurance and find a professional cleaning company. The children’s room and lower level will remain closed indefinitely.

All the carpets and baseboards need replaced. I am mostly worried about damage to the shelving units and cabinets. I do not know about the books, but am hopeful that the lower shelves were above the waterline
