Glenn John “Duck” Chittester, age 61, of Huckleberry St., Weedville, PA, died suddenly on April 18, 2026 at Penn Highlands-DuBois. A son of the late Joseph and Ida (Crate) Chittester, he was born on August 21, 1964 in Ridgway, PA. On June 9, 2000 he married Lori (Merat), who survives at home.


Along with his wife, John is survived by two children, Nicholas and Casey Chittester of Weedville; five brothers, Michael (Shirley) Chittester, David Chittester, Wayne Chittester, Patrick Chittester and Thomas Chittester; a sister, Frances Chittester; and several nieces and nephews.


Besides his parents, John was predeceased by a brother, Walter and a sister, Jane.


John is a graduate of Ridgway High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He worked as a Die-Setter for Continuous Metal Technologies for many years. He was a member of The Bennetts Valley American Legion and enjoyed volunteering for Special Olympics. He also enjoyed fishing and playing chess. He lived most of his life in Ridgway and has been a Bennetts Valley resident since 1993.


There will be no public visitation.


Graveside services will be held, 12:00 p.m., Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery of Force with Father Mark Mastrian.


The family suggests memorials to Special Olympics and will be accepting online condolences at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home website(www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com).
