Joseph E. Pisani, 79, Johnsonburg

Joseph E. Pisani, 79, of Elk Towers, St. Marys, and formerly of San Francisco, CA, passed away Monday morning, July 20, 2026, at his residence following a brief illness. He was born February 8, 1947, in Ridgway, a son to the late Louis and Margaret Scarano Pisani.

Joseph graduated from Johnsonburg Area High School in 1966 and from the Art Institute in York, PA. He had lived most of his life in San Francisco working as a maître de for several prestigious restaurants before returning to Elk County, living in St. Marys since 2018.

Joseph loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephew and great-nieces and nephew. He was an avid collector, especially antiques and art. He loved to travel and attend Silver Sneakers.

Joseph is survived by his siblings Cheryl Leathers (Gary) of Wilcox and Louis Pisani (Luann) of St. Marys and nieces Carly Lewis (Kurt) and Cara Steinberg (Jason) and nephew Louis Pisani and his longtime companion Leslie. He is also survived by great nieces and nephew Teyah, Lenah, GiGi and Henry.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph E. Pisani will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, on Monday July 27, 2026, at 10 AM with Fr. David Wilson, Pastor as celebrant. Interment will be private.

There will be no visitation.
