Joseph E. Sadowski, Sr., 89, Ridgway

Joseph E. Sadowski, Sr., age 89, of Hoovertown Road, Penfield, PA, died Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Penn Highlands-DuBois, after a short illness. A son of the late John and Mary (Fisherowski) Sadowski, he was born on March 14, 1937 in Tyler, PA. On June 24, 1960 he married Connie (Livergood), who predeceased him on December 27, 2009.

Joe is survived by two children, Yvonne (Pete) Vavra of North Carolina and Joseph (Lorie) Sadowski, Jr. of DuBois, PA; three grandchildren, Kaylee Jo Sadowski, Trevor Matthew (Cassie) Beaver and Alexa Rae (Neil) Robertson; four great-grandchildren, Callan, Cody, Sidney and Shepherd; and two sisters, Antoinette “Toni” Klaiber of Weedville and Theresa “Terri” Chiodo of Force, PA.

Besides his parents and his wife, Joe was predeceased by an infant brother, Raymond, twin-sisters, Elizabeth and Pauline; and two brothers in law, Dennis “Pete” Klaiber and George Chiodo.

Joe worked many years for Joyce Western Corporation Pipelines and D.C. Guelich Explosives and enjoyed being very active in many odd jobs long after his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, time on “The Farm”, and some Canadian hunting and fishing trips. He was well known locally for his well-manicured lawn. He lived all his life in Tyler and Penfield.

Following Joe’s explicit wishes, there will be no public viewing or public services.

Burial will take place in the Gillingham Cemetery of Clearfield County beside his wife.
