Molly Hanslovan of St. Marys, PA was recently presented with a scholarship for $500 by the Wapiti Roost Local chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation. Molly is a senior at St. Marys Area High School and plans to continue her education to study Biology at Washington and Jefferson College.
This scholarship is set up to benefit students with an interest in conservation related issues and is a part of the NWTF’s Five-Star program. Applicants for the scholarship must be Elk County residents and are judged on their scholastic achievements, leadership abilities, and community involvement.
As a local scholarship winner, Molly became eligible for consideration for the PA State Chapter Scholarship. She was declared the runner-up in that competition and was awarded $2,000. As a PA State winner, she is now eligible for the NWTF National Scholarship in the amount of $10,000.
“The Wapiti Roost is very pleased to participate in this scholarship program, along with other activities that invest in the education of the youth of Elk County”, said the Wapiti Roost’s president Don Schnars.
Molly is the daughter of Jim and Erin Hanslovan of St. Marys.
