Michael D. Hosmer, 69, Ridgway

Michael D. Hosmer, 69, of Montmorenci Road, Ridgway, passed away at his residence, on Thursday evening, September 17, 2026, following a lengthy illness. He was born May 1, 1951, in Saranac, MI, a son to the late Horace W. and Lois E. Payne Hosmer.

Michael grew up in Michigan and graduated from Newberry, MI High School and received a degree as an LPN from Escanaba Community College. He gave up nursing to become a bricklayer and moved around the country building everything from Wal-Marts to Churches. He moved to the Ridgway area in 2004.

Michael was an avid hunter and angler and was a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Green Bay Packers. He was also a proud supporter of the Elk County Humane Society.

Michael is survived by his sisters, Mary Hosmer with whom he resided and Kathryn Hasting (Dick) of Newberry, MI, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Michael is predeceased by a brother William W. Hosmer, and a brother in infancy.

Funeral services and interment for Michael Dean Hosmer will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Michael’s care has been entrusted to the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg, PA.
