Milk Marketing Bill Signed into Law

Legislation to update and improve Pennsylvania’s Milk Marketing Law has been signed into law by the Governor. House Bill 1006, now Act 70 of 2026, will simplify certification requirements for milk testers, weighers, and samplers and align regulatory practices with current industry standards.

Existing law requires milk testers, weighers and samplers to complete and pass examinations every year to renew their certifications. Under the new law, the renewal process will occur every two years, aligning with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s evaluation timeline. It will also remove outdated fees from 1937.

Act 70 of 2026 takes effect in 60 days.
