Following changes at the federal level to SNAP benefits, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) announced changes of their own for beneficiaries in the Commonwealth.
Starting October 1, Pennsylvania will increase their income limits and benefit amounts for residents and all SNAP recipients, giving recipients another $18, adding that there will not be a decrease in benefits due to the new changes.
As of February 9, 2026, federal SNAP requirements include proof of shelter costs and utility responsibility from applicants when they apply and at renewal, with certain recipients being required to show work requirements and time limits.
