New York Grouse Tattoo Artist Jacob Maricle is Visiting Artist at the Ruffed Grouse Society’s Upland Bird Hunt in the PA Wilds

Tattoo artist Jacob Maricle of Arcade, NY, is the visiting artist at the Ruffed Grouse Society’s (RGS) Upland Bird Hunt held at the Red Fern on November 7, in St. Marys, Pa.
Jacob has grown his craft of illustrations and tattoos over the last fifteen years. Jake started out just wanting to express his love of the outdoors, his keen interest in wildlife, and mesh with his work experiences.
Besides a tattoo business out of Old Gold Tattoo in Yorkshire, NY, Jake also operates a guiding service specializing in upland hunts and fly-fishing with his wife Ashley. They both have a keen interest in grouse and woodcock and want to give back to these birds that are experiencing declines in abundance in former ranges. Jake and Ashley are leaders within the Appalachian Plateau Chapter based out of Ellicottville, NY. They grew their love of these wild birds by contributing to events hosted by the RGS Upland Bird Hunt Chapter based out of St Marys, PA.
Jake and Ashley are also waterfowl conservationists and active in Western New York Delta Waterfowl installing waterfowl structures on wetlands.
Jacob works in many mediums, but his preferred mediums are ink, watercolor, gouache (paint made from natural pigments), coffee and tea. Jake even uses gamebird feathers as nib or brush for his artwork. Jake’s artistry will be on full display at the Grand Banquet of the Upland Bird Hunt in the PA Wilds at the Red Fern Conference Center on Saturday, November 7.
