Penn Highlands DuBois to Host ‘Pancakes and Purses’ Women’s Health Event

Penn Highlands DuBois will host “Pancakes and Purses” on Saturday, October 17, 2026, offering women the chance to come together for a pancake breakfast, engaging healthcare presentations and an opportunity to connect with local physicians and other healthcare professionals.
The women’s health education event will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Founders’ Café and Grill at Penn Highlands DuBois, 100 Hospital Avenue, DuBois, PA. The $5 registration fee directly supports women’s healthcare initiatives in the community.
The event will feature presentations on a variety of women’s healthcare topics, including:
• Kelley Chilson, PsyD, a licensed psychologist at Penn Highlands DuBois, who will discuss integrative healing, an approach to health and wellness that considers a person’s physical, mental and emotional well-being rather than focusing solely on a specific illness or symptom.
• Mitch Kovacs, MD, a family medicine physician at Penn Highlands State College, who will discuss the difference between harmless snoring and hidden sleep apnea and offer tips for better, more restorative rest.
• Physical therapist Missy West, PT, DPT, will discuss pelvic floor health, how this foundational muscle group impacts everything from core strength to bladder control and practical strategies to support your pelvic floor through every stage of life.
Following the presentations, attendees will have an opportunity to interact with physicians and healthcare professionals, ask questions and learn more about the resources available to support their health goals. In addition to the presentations and pancake breakfast, attendees can enter for a chance to win one of several popular name-brand handbags.
“‘Pancakes and Purses’ is a wonderful opportunity for women to come together, learn more about their health and support one another,” said Dr. Chilson. “We want women to feel empowered to ask questions, prioritize their health and make connections with the healthcare professionals who are here to support them.”
Seating is limited, and advance registration is required. Visit phhealthcare.org/letstalk to reserve a space.
