Penn Highlands DuBois Welcomes First Baby of the New Year

Penn Highlands Healthcare proudly welcomed the first baby of 2026 born at Penn Highlands DuBois. Rhythm Lee Maines arrived January 1, 2026, at 9:13 AM weighing 8 lbs. 10 oz. and measuring 21 inches long.


Third time parents, Austin and Lila Maines, of Clearfield, Pennsylvania are excited to bring baby boy Rhythm home to be with his siblings – Lyric Michael Maines and Eden Nirvana Maines. With each child having a music-related name, Austin and Lila are looking forward to listening to music, playing instruments and attending concerts together as a family. The couple is also delighted to share their love of fishing with baby Rhythm in the years ahead. Rhythm was delivered by Sara M. Lange, DO who specializes in women’s health services and provides a continuum of care for women from their teen years through menopause and beyond.


Austin and Lila shared that they had a wonderful experience at The Maternal and Child Center at Penn Highlands DuBois. “The staff here were very attentive to us from the beginning. We have had a very positive experience and as a whole – everything was great,” said overjoyed Lila.


The Maines family expressed their gratitude to The Maternal and Child Center and Life’s Journey teams at Penn Highlands DuBois and are thankful for their growing family as they look ahead to the future.
