Red Raiders Over Coudersport, ECC Over Dubois In OT, Dutch And Rams Win

Scoring 8 of its 10 overtime points from the free-throw line, Elk County Catholic advanced to the inaugural D9 Central League title game with a 40-34 win over visiting DuBois. Breindel led ECC with 14 points, while Simbeck added 12, but didn’t score in the second half until the four late free throws after hitting a pair of first-quarter 3-pointers and scoring eight first-half points. Bennett had a game-high 19 points for DuBois


Down six going to the fourth quarter, defending NTL Tournament champion Cameron County rallied past Coudersport, 46-42, in the NTL semifinals in Emporium. Cameron County will meet Port Allegany in the NTL Tournament at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Bradford High School.


In the other D9 Central League semifinal contest, Johnsonburg defeated visiting Brockway for the second time in four days, 61-47, at Johnsonburg.

Parker Calla led the Rams with 21 points, while Will Elmquist added 15 points, and Andon Lindberg chipped in 10 points.


Meanwhile in St. Marys, Drew Schutz had 21 points to lead St. Marys to a 64-45 win over West Branch in non-conference action.Louis Nedzinski added 18 points for the Dutch, while Tysen Beimel contributed 12. Nico Assalone chipped in eight points. Dylan McGonigal scored 17 points for West Branch, while Coby Kephart had 10 points.
