Regulators Warn Of Higher Pennsylvania Electric Bills Starting June 1st

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission is urging consumers to brace for noticeably higher electric bills this summer as a series of new electricity generation prices are scheduled to take effect on June 1st. According to state regulators, all PUC-regulated electric utilities across the Commonwealth will adjust their default electricity supply rate, officially known as the Price to Compare. The timing of the rate restructuring coincides directly with the onset of peak summer heat, a period when air-conditioning demand traditionally spikes and drives up statewide energy consumption.

Officials warn that the combination of these increased supply costs and heavier seasonal power usage will likely trigger significantly higher monthly utility bills for many households.
