Ridgway Man Accused of Physically Abusing 7-Month-Old Child

Police have charged Nevyn Riley Kearney, 24, of Ridgway with two counts of aggravated assault and several other charges including recklessly endangering another person and two counts of making false reports to authorities. Police responded to a report from Elk County Children and Youth Services regarding a 7-moth old child allegedly being abused. Police learned the child was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital suffering from seizures, along with a right frontal lobe injury and other serious injuries. Kerney was arrested and placed in Elk County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for April 7th.
