Ronald Carey, 65, Ridgway

Ronald Carey, 65, of Ridgway, died on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Penn Highlands Dubois following a lengthy illness.

He was born on February 16, 1961, in Amarillo, TX, a son of the late Robert and Robbie Laman Carey.

On October 31, 2011, he married Josephine Casale, who survives.

A talented writer, Ron enjoyed putting his imagination into words and creating stories. He also had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and could often be found taking peaceful walks through the woods and enjoying nature. In his quieter moments, Ron loved reading and watching classic horror movies, two favorite pastimes that brought him many hours of enjoyment.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters; Courtney Griffith of Ridgway, Rachel Watson of St. Marys, and Toni (Michael) Baloga of Ridgway, 9 grandchildren; Brooke, Olivia, Alex, Hannah, Donovan, Josie, Anthony, Kali, and Randall, and 4 great grandchildren; Messiah, Cyn, Bryar, Esmae. He is also survived by a sister, Sissy (Joe) Miller of TX, a brother, Randy (Ingrid) Carey of TX, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Meyer.

Funeral Services are being held privately by his family.
