Saturday, April 4th ~ 2pm 5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Join our staff at the center for our 5th annual Easter Egg Hunt. Eggs will be hidden on the grounds and along trails for youngsters to find. A variety of treats and prizes will be found within them!

Sunday, April 5th ~ 2pm EASTER SUNDAY CLOSED

Saturday, April 11th ~ 2pm 2025-26 Elk Hunting Recap

Did you know we have 3 elk hunting seasons? With a total of 140 tags allocated, 13 zones, and check station information lets dive into a total recap of this past year’s elk hunting results. Come find out more about why we hunt the elk and how it benefits the herd!

Sunday, April 12th ~ 11-2pm Let’s Go Fish PA!

In celebration of opening season of trout in Pennsylvania, the Elk Country Visitor Center is celebrating some of PA’s popular fish species. Join the ConEd. staff as we take turns catching each of our fish cutouts, and learn a fact or two about each one! This activity is great for families with young children.

Saturday, April 18th ~ 2pm How to Find a Fossil

Have you ever wanted to find a fossil? Well join us and a DCNR Geoscientist as we uncover the mysteries beneath our feet! This will be an amazing program for all ages interested in geology in the state of Pennsylvania.

Sunday, April 19th ~ 2pm Elk Walk & Talk

Join a staff member as we hike the trails around the Elk Country Visitor Center. Learn many interesting facts about the property and wildlife that often inhabit these fields. We will be covering topics such as what elk eat, where they spend their time, and how each season brings something different.

Saturday, April 25th ~ 2pm Earth Day & Arbor Day Celebrations

Come join us for a weekend full of a variety of environmentally friendly crafts, information, and activities, as we celebrate our support for environmental protection and the importance of trees.

Sunday, April 26th ~ 2pm Salamander Safari

Did you ever want to know what salamanders live in PA? Come join the Con-Ed staff as we explore the different salamander species in PA as well as learn different methods on conducting a population count. Come help start a data log for the Elk Country Visitor Center on what salamanders live in Elk Country. After the program, we will be going for a walk to look for salamanders on the visitor center property to find these amazing creatures.
