Several Residents Reportedly Received Tax Bills That Were Inaccurately Sent

It has been reported that several residents in the City of St. Marys have been issued tax bills that have been inaccurately sent by Berkheimer Tax.

The following is from a social media post sent by Thomas J. Nicklas, City Tax Collector

The City of St. Marys Tax Office is aware of tax bills recently issued by Berkheimer Tax that were inaccurately sent to a certain group of residents. These persons may have been inaccurately assessed the St. Marys Area School District Occupational and Per Capita taxes. Persons who received these bills and wish to dispute them must contact Berkheimer at 610-599-3141, as listed on the top right corner of the bills.

The group consists primarily of retirees and disabled persons who earned less than $5,000 in earned income in 2025. Some bills were also issued to deceased persons.

The St. Marys Area School District is aware of the issue and is working with its contracted vendor Berkheimer to prevent the recurrence of this error.
