Chase Simbeck drilled five 3-pointers, including three in the first quarter, as Elk County Catholic rolled past Clarion, 52-23, in the D9 Showcase at PennWest Clarion’s Tippin Gym.
ECC had eight players score in the game. The teams will meet again on Feb. 9 at ECC.
CAMERON COUNTY 45, OSWAYO VALLEY 34
SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Up four at halftime, visiting Cameron County turned to Beckett Bure in the third quarter to help it pull away from Oswayo Valley for a 45-34 NTL win.
Taylon Tucker led Cameron County with 13 points. Alec Resig had 10 points for Oswayo Valley.
PORT ALLEGANY 50, AUSTIN 14
AUSTIN, Pa. – Jarrod Funk had 22 points and five rebounds to lead visiting Port Allegany to a 50-14 win over Austin in NTL action.The Gators had 15 steals in the game, led by four from Chase Boyd. Boyd added four points and six rebounds.
NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD 58, NORTHERN POTTER 22
MANSFIELD, Pa. – Layne Cummnings led a trio of North Penn-Mansfield players in double digits with 16 points in a 58-22 home win over Northern Potter.
