The Stackpole-Hall Foundation Trustees, family, and staff are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. William J. Olson as a new Term Trustee for the Foundation.
Mr. Olson began his engineering career with roles at Quality Components, before joining Keystone Powdered Metal Company, where he would spend the next 15 years. Following his successful tenure in the manufacturing and engineering sectors, he chose to transition into work that more directly supports community and environmental priorities.
He now works in the wildlife field as a consultant, focusing on habitat improvement strategies for private, commercial, and government clients. Bill has also served as a technician on numerous wildlife research projects conducted by state and federal agencies, as well as university partners. His commitment to conservation extends beyond his professional work; he has been an active member of several local, state, and national conservation organizations and has contributed his time to various civic and nonprofit efforts throughout the region.
Bill holds BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Business, and Economics from Carnegie Mellon University. He resides in St. Marys with his wife, Jane Kahl Olson, and is the proud father of daughter Justine Olson Bleggi and son Andrew Olson.
The Foundation is governed by a board of 13 Trustees, five of whom are Lifetime Trustees typically represented by members of the Stackpole and Hall families. Alexander “Sandy” Sheble-Hall currently serves as Chairman of the Board.
Established in 1951 by founding donors Lyle G. Hall, J. Hall Stackpole, and Harrison C. Stackpole, the Foundation has carried forward their legacy and contributed more than $48 million to the community. Its mission is to first consider the needs of the people of Elk County, Pennsylvania, with the goal of improving the fundamental quality of life. Funding priorities include education, human services, community development, the environment, and the arts.
The Foundation is excited to welcome Mr. Olson, whose term will begin on January 1, 2026. The Trustees look forward to his leadership and the perspective he will bring, particularly in the areas of local environmental and conservation needs.
