Two Vehicle Accident On Johnsonburg Road Near East Joseph Road

City police in St Mary's reported that along with the St Mary's ambulance service responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Johnsonburg Road and E Joseph Road. During the investigation police note that a 66-year-old man from Kane was traveling into St Mary's on the Johnsonburg Road and while distracted did not notice a vehicle stopped on the Johnsonburg Road waiting for another vehicle to turn onto East Joseph Road. Officers discovered the 66-year-old man applied his brakes however he was unable to stop before hitting the stop vehicle. The stopped vehicle was operated by a known 43-year-old female from Johnsonburg. Additionally, the vehicle that was struck was occupied by a 20-year-old female and a two-year-old female who were transported to Penn Highlands Elk for treatment. Officers discovered in addition to the distracted driving, the tires of the vehicle operated by the 66-year-old man were in poor condition and contributed to the collision.
