William James Herzing (Bill), 92, St. Marys

William James Herzing (Bill), 92, formerly of St. Mary’s and Tyler passed away in Northumberland, PA on Monday, March 9, 2026.

He was born in St. Mary’s on September 26, 1933, son of the late George and Margaret Herzing. He served on active duty in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. Returning to St. Mary’s he worked for 40 years at Pure Carbon retiring in 1995.

William is survived by his daughters Margaret Gatewood, Anna Herzing, and Nancy Dulzer, and his son Bill Herzing, nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Rose Belsole.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Anna Marie, two brothers, Thomas Herzing, and Leo Herzing, and two granddaughters, Angela Catharine Herzing and Margaret Delay Herzing.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Force, PA.
