Carol A. Yankovich, 83, of Dewey Circle, Ridgway, and formerly of Wilcox, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 14, 2026, at Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, following a lengthy illness. She was born January 26, 1943, in Wilcox, a daughter to the late George and Stella Budzinski Yankovich.
A lifelong resident of the area, she has lived the last 45 years in Ridgway after living in Wilcox for many years. She was a 1960 graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School and a 1962 graduate of the Carnegie School with a degree in Medical Technology.
Carol was a member of St. Leo Magnus Church where she was a lector for many years. She had previously been a member of St. Anne’s Church in Wilcox where she had been on the Parish Council in addition to other Church organizations.
Carol was very active with the American Medical Technologist, where she had sat on the Regional Board of Directors for many years and served as both secretary and treasurer. She had also served as its District Councilor for many years and had been appointed as Executive Councilor and served on its National Board of Directors.
Carol retired from St. Marys Regional Medical Center in 2002 as the Clinical Laboratory Director after many years of service. She had also been a medical Technologist at Kane Community Hospital and Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital. Carol was also a Certified Circuit Trainer at Curves in Ridgway until it’s closing in 2009.
Carol is survived by her nieces, Lisa Whitcomb (Kevin) of Boston, MA, Susan Krause (Matthew) of Philadelphia and Karen Gehman (Dana) of Philadelphia and great-nieces Megan and Sarah Whitcomb, Caitlyn Krause and Abigail Gehman and a great-nephew Jakob Gehman.
In addition to her parents, Carol is predeceased by her sister Eileen Geist and her brother-in-law William Geist.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Carol A. Yankovich to be conducted at St. Leo Magnus Church, 111 Depot Street, Ridgway, on Saturday June 20, 2026, at 11 AM with Fr. Justin Pino, Pastor as celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday morning, June 20, 2026, at the St. Leo’s gathering space from 10 AM until the time of service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg.
