Center For Rural Health & Resarch Holding Meeting To Discuss Rural Health Care September 22nd At Community Education Center

The East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Center for Rural Health and Research (CRHR) is conducting a national research study, funded by the Commonwealth Fund, to understand which healthcare services rural communities consider essential, and how those services should be delivered. The research team is visiting approximately eight rural communities across the country to hear directly from residents, healthcare providers, and local leaders. At each site, they aim to hold three sessions: an open community listening session, a focus group with local healthcare providers, and a focus group with community policymakers and leaders. Sessions will explore which services people believe should be available locally and in person, what "local" access means to community members, and which services could be delivered through alternatives such as telehealth.

We will be visiting Elk County, PA, on September 22nd and want to extend this listening session opportunity to all community members aged 18 and older. The listening session is from 5:00-7:30 PM at the Community Education Council. Food and drinks provided. Chance to win one of four $50 gift cards.
