Clifford R. “Skip” Mott, 86, Ridgway

Clifford R. “Skip” Mott, age 86, of Little Avenue, Ridgway, PA, died December 26, 2025 at the Hershey Medical Center, after a brief illness. A son of the late Peter R. and Guinevere (Wilcox) Mott, he was born on June 30, 1939 in Olean, NY.


Skip is survived by his only child, Lori Mott Cherry of Ridgway; his granddaughter Tyler Fields and her children, Drake, Ashton, Oliver and Sonny; his granddaughter, Katie (Jordan) Riley and their daughter, Harper; and two sisters, Gladys Miller and Janet Eimer.


Besides his parents, Skip was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Francis and David, and a sister, Patricia Goldsmith.


Skip was born Olean, raised in Knapps Creek, lived many years in Bradford and the past twenty-three years in Ridgway. He worked for W.R. Case and Sons for thirty-nine years, retiring in 2002. A longtime Buffalo Bills fan who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, he was an avid connoisseur of Coors Light, Marlboro and old Country Music. He especially enjoyed his cat, Misty and the family dogs, Lily, Charlie and Roxy.


There will be no public visitation.


The family will hold services privately.


Interment will take place in the Allegany Cemetery in Allegany, NY.


The family suggests memorials to the Neuro‑Critical Care at Hershey Medical Center and will be accepting online condolences at the Ubel Funeral Home website (www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com).
