Crusaders Fall To Brookville In High School Soccer...ECC Over SMAHS In Volleyball

ree

ECC Boys lost in a hard fought battle to the end of the match. ECC 3 Brookville 4. The end of the first half was 0-2 in Brookville's favor. We had our fair share of chances but couldn't find the back of the net.

We had a good talk at half time and were able to light a fire. The boys came out of halftime and within the first two minutes Wyatt Brem was able to find a rebound and place it past the keeper for our first goal. About 2 minutes later we were awarded a PK due to a foul in the box. Isaiah Nicklas was chosen to take the PK and was able to find the back of the net and tie it at 2 a piece. Brookville went up a goal about 3 minutes later. We were able to tally one more to ECC's side with a goal from Julian Lanzel with about 25 minutes remaining. Unfortunately with almost 4 minutes left in the game, we had a defensive breakdown that led to a goal for Brookville.

I am extremely proud of how these boys were able to work back from a deficit and find it in themselves to not give up. We have few underclassmen starting for us this year in key positions, and already we are having some kids step up into roles due to a few injuries. Simon Dornisch and Bruce Boschert stepped up tonight. They may not have tallied a goal, but their efforts should not go unnoticed.
