Crusaders Move On To Semifinals With Win Over Erie First

Elk County Catholic advances to the PIAA State semifinals with a 58-43 win over Erie First Academy on Friday. Chase Simbeck scored 14 of his game-high 29 points in the second quarter. Jack Breindel added 12 points and six rebounds for eCC.2,427 points, second only to Warren’s John Bowen (2,884) in D10 history.
ECC, which is in the PIAA semifinals for the first time since 2022 and for the sixth time in school history.
ECC will face defending PIAA 1A champion Neighborhood Academy, an 81-41 winner of Conestoga Christian, in the semifinals on Monday, March 16, at a site and time to be determined.
