Crusaders Over Kane, Dutch Fall In High School Softball

Lanie Weisner came within an error of throwing a perfect game, settling for a no-hitter, and also hit a home run in Elk County Catholic’s 9-0 win at Kane.


Weisner struck out 16 and was 3-for-4 at the plate. She added a double to her home run while going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.


BROCKWAY 13, JOHNSONBURG 1, 5 INNINGS


BROCKWAY, Pa. – Behind the bats of Ella Reitz and Elysabeth Myers, Brockway rolled past visiting Johnsonburg, 13-1, in five innings.


Reitz went 2-for-3 with a home run, a run scored, and three RBIs, and Myers was 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, a walk, a run scored, and three RBIs.


NORTHERN POTTER 15, SMETHPORT 0, 3 INNINGS


ULYSSES, Pa. – Scoring 12 runs in the first innings, Northern Potter beat visiting Smethport, 15-0, in three innings.


Taylor Knowles capped the big opening frame with a two-run home run after Emma Haynes had a bases-loaded, bases-clearing triple that made it 10-0.


DUBOIS 14, ST. MARYS 12

DUBOIS, Pa. – Scoring six times after two outs in the bottom of the sixth, DuBois stunned visiting St. Marys, 14-12, in a game that featured just 18 hits combined but nine errors and 13 walks.


Trailing 12-8 going to the bottom of the sixth at Heindl Field in DuBois, Taylor Gornati issued four consecutive walks after two outs to give DuBois its ninth run.
