David A. Kunes, age 76, Weedville

David A. Kunes, age 76, of Apple Street, Weedville, PA, died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Clarion County. A son of the late Archie and Dolores (Robinson) Kunes, he was born on January 20, 1950 in St. Marys, PA. On April 12, 1969 he married Patricia A. (Leigey) who predeceased him on October 9, 2022.

Along with his parents and his wife, Dave was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ronald Smith.

Dave is survived by two children, David A. (Viky) Kunes, Jr. of Weedville and Lynn Smith of Weedville; three grandchildren, Matthew, Richard and Lillie; and a brother, Randy (Yoshie) Kunes of California.

Dave lived all his life in Bennetts Valley and served as Sergeant in the US Army Reserves. Using the handle “White Knight”, he was a tanker truck driver for local companies for many years. He enjoyed Racing cars and especially being Crew Chief for his grandson, Matthew Bryant. He also enjoyed his antique cars, including a 1954 Chrysler Windsor Deluxe and a 1981 Dodge Pickup.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer funeral Home of Penfield, PA. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at the funeral home with Pastor Missy Smith.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Bennetts Valley American Legion Post 978 Honor Guard.

Interment will take place in the Mt. Zion Cemetery of Weedville.
