John F. "Jack" Bogacki, 89, Ridgway

John F. "Jack" Bogacki, 89, of Ridgway, died on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Penn Highlands Dubois.

He was born on December 15, 1936, in Reynoldsville, the son of the late John J. and Edith J. Glasso Bogacki.

On November 19, 1955, he married the late Mary Ann Flannigan, who preceded him in death in 2018.

Jack was a true entrepreneur who spent his life working hard and building businesses. A genuine "Jack of all trades," there wasn't much he couldn't fix, build, or figure out once he set his mind to it. Jack truly loved going to work and spent countless hours at the Royal Inn, the family business started by his parents in 1954. It became a big part of Jack’s life and was ultimately where he would finish his working years and retire from.

But retirement certainly didn’t mean slowing down for Jack. For more than 15 years, he served on the Ridgway Area School Board, a responsibility he took very seriously and a role in which his knowledge, experience, and practical way of looking at things made him a valued advisor. Following his retirement, Jack took on what may have been one of his biggest jobs yet, serving as Chairman of the Building and Maintenance Committee for the Ridgway Area School District. He oversaw the conversion of the high school and middle school and served as a primary advisor during the reconstruction of the elementary school. When those major projects were complete, Jack continued overseeing the ongoing maintenance of the district’s buildings, always making sure things were cared for and done right.

And when Jack wasn’t working on a business, a school building, or another project, chances are he could be found in his own shop. He loved woodworking, building furniture, fixing things, and creating with his own two hands.

He is survived by three children; John W. Bogacki, Barbara Bogacki, Edith Martin (Ken Schneider), all of Ridgway, eight grandchildren; John J. Bogacki, William Bogacki, Jacob Bogacki, Carly (Jake) Ford, Michael Popson, Travis Martin, Diana Martin, and Stacey Martin, 8 great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bogacki.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Leo Magnus Catholic Church, 111 Depot Street, Ridgway, PA 15853, with Fr. Paul Siebert officiating.

Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will be received on Friday at St. Leo Church from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass.
