Nicholas J. Roberto, 47, St. Marys

Nicholas J. Roberto, 47, of St. Marys, died on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at his residence follow a lengthy illness.

He was born on April 11, 1979, in Coudersport, the son of Patricia Zimmer Roberto and the late Frederick Roberto.

On August 13, 2004, he married Tonia Mertz, who survives.

Nick was a true family man who treasured the time he spent with his children, whether it was on a hunting trip or simply taking a ride down the back roads. A talented woodworker, he was especially known for making walking sticks, each one reflecting the skill and care he put into his work. Nick also loved hiking and heading out on his own "Bigfoot hunts," often with his faithful dogs leading the way. Those who knew Nick knew about his love for Teaberry ice cream, a simple favorite that was unmistakably part of who he was.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by four children: Nicholas Knight of Force, Anthony Roberto, Carmella Roberto (Kyle Sarginger), and Dion Roberto, all of St. Marys, and one granddaughter, Naomi. He is also survived by three siblings; Matthew (Patty) Roberto of Ellwood City, Stephanie (Larry) Loveland of Emporium, and Michael Roberto of Emporium, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Roberto.

A Celebration of Life for Nicholas J. Roberto will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Lynch Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael, St. Marys, PA, 15857.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Lynch Green Funeral Home from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM, and Saturday, September 26, from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
