Joseph M. Wojcik, Sr., 59, of Bucktail Road, St. Marys, passed away following a lengthy and brave battle with cancer Saturday, January 3, 2026 with his family by his side.
Joe was born December 19, 1966 in Kane, PA, son of Frank and Mary Jo Cosentino Wojcik of Kane. He was a graduate of Kane High School and continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, where he graduated in 1992. He was proud of his service with the United States National Guard for nine years and was employed with GKN.
On July 11, 2009, in St. Marys, Joe married Suzanne Acker, who survives. He and Suzy enjoyed their time together traveling the country and caring for their family.
In addition to his loving wife and parents, Joe is survived by his daughter, Shana Wojcik (Tim Garity) of Kane; his son, Joseph M. Wojcik, Jr. of Glen Burnie, MD; step-daughters: Jessica Salter (Justin) of St. Marys and Hilary Braun (Brian) of Johnsonburg; step-son, Shane Claar (Samantha) of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren: Bence and Otto Braun and Carley and Makenna Claar; a sister, Jill Whittemore (Bill Raubenstrauch “Ruby”) of Kane; and a brother, Frank Wojcik (Kathy) of Kane.
Throughout Joe’s life he was known for a strong work ethic and deep love for the outdoors. He found joy cutting wood, spending time outside, and appreciating the simple pleasures that came from hard work and fresh air. He treasured his time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also shared a special bond with his pet dogs, who were a constant source of companionship, comfort, and happiness.
A funeral service for Joe will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home, 169 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 11:00AM with Pastor Bob Zilhaver, officiating.
